I want to move from my PC to an iMac.
My priority is to maintain my windows programs.
As well as my XP OS does my existing programs get transferred at the same time or do I have to install them separately?
Sorry if this is on the wrong forum.

    Hi all,
Testing Parallels (very cool soft !) after buying my first Mac, i have the same question.
I made the transfert PC ==> Mac through an external hard drive, and it looks like Parallels created a more than 30Gb file on my Mac, but all my PC software have been included.
If i reinstall my PC to its factory configuration, meaning with no software but Windows7, and then do the Parallels transfert to my Mac:
1/ Will the file be much less tha the 30Gb ?
2/ Will i be able to install a Windows software directly in my Mac through Parallels ?

Sorry if the question has already been asked, but i din't find similar topic here, and i'm a real noob in the Mac world ;-)

    Thanks Kat, that's perfect !

As you are quick and expert (I want to finish testing my mac and parallels this WE ;-) ), just 2 last confirmations please:

1/ Can i install small size windows software directly from my mac, by using the Parallels desktop app ?
2/ May I face a Parallels virtual disk size issue, if I install too many ? Or is it expandable later ?

    Thanks again Kat !

Sorry I couldn't get back with you sooner, but no internet

If your question is can you create a windows vm on your mac using parallels the answer is yes, and you can install window compatible software into that vm as though it were a windows computer.
