Hi, I don't seem to be able to get the Mac Dictation function to work on my 2007 MS Word - running on Windows 7 - 32 Bit Virtual Machine. Any ideas of a fix?
Same problem. While I run the parallels 9, the dictation function will not be worked in both Mac and Windows system. If I closed the parallels 9, it would be worked again. Please help to find a way to fix it.
I have updated to Parallels Build 9.0.23350 (Revision 941886) Dictation works better in Word but the spoken command for New Paragraph does not work correctly. Not very impressed.
Could you please share how you are using dictation in the Windows VM? (I'm on mavericks, windows 8.1, parallels desktop 9.0.23350 rev 941886) I can't seem to get it to work at all. I hit the function key twice as I usually do under OS X, but nothing happens in the Windows virtual machine. Is there some option or preference I'm missing? Thanks for your help, John
The only thing I have done is to use the enhanced dictation function on my Mac (whereby you download dictation to your Mac) http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/os-x-mavericks-using-enhanced-dictation I cant think of anything else I've done which would be different from anyone else.
Hi Graham, Thanks for the response. I tried enabling enhanced dictation. I like it! However, it still doesn't work in my Windows VM. Are you using the double tap Fn key to start dictation, or did you change the activation key? -John
I'm using the default Fn double tap. Sometimes I get a grey spinning wheel when I engage dictation - sometimes not.
