I have a windows 7 on my Macbook. it has a 191G harddrive (only harddrive) but the pvm file takes up 400G on my mac. looking into the pvm it has several harddrive files totalling 375G? How can I reclaim the diskspace. (I have tried to reclaim under P-tools, it says that there are no disk space to reclaim and reports 375g taken up by Windows harddrives. Seen from Windows I have used about 165G of the available 191G. can anyone help me. Running Maverick/Parallels 9 but it was also under Lion. Tom
Hi, I have the same problem. I have windows 7 , it has 37G harddrive but takes up 82G on my mac an I get a message every time that my startdisk is almost full (Macbook aAr 128G). Running Maverick/Parallels 9. How can I reduce the size. Thanks in advance György
These are likely related to snapshots, merge snapshots to reduce the space usage (if you don't plan reverting back to any of them, of course).
No, you shouldn't. You can however see the space you can reclaim at the first configuration screen, and/or compress the hard disk in the hardware screen of the VM configuration. By the way, I was answering the first poster, my recommendations are somewhat generic, and you both should try them.
Thanks, The problem: I tried at the 1st config to reclaim: the answer:"Parallels Desktop could not find any data to compress or remove to free up the space used by this virtual machine" I tried in the hardware screen compress which said: "When the compression is over, the space initially occupied by the virtual machine will be reduced from 31.7 GB to 31.7 GB." I checked the size of the Parallels/VM and it is still 82G. ???? thanks again
