hi. my problem is that i can't get my VMs to access my media files which are stored on an external HD. no matter what i try, i cant get it to work :-( and yes, parallels tools is installed in my OSX VM. not sure about XP. can someone point me in the right direction? also, i can't install the parallels tools in my ubuntu VM. when i try, it looks like it downloads the files but hten it says something like "an error occurred during installation." since i'm new to ubuntu, i don't know what to do :-(

unfortunately it doesn't. i've entered the line from that page and i think it installed something, but when i try to install the tools, i still get the same error. here's (part of) the log: Parallels in the log i posted above there are lines like unless i'm mistaken, that means i have the wrong kernel version installed, right? so what version do i need? and how do i get it installed?
