At first, I couldn't figure out why I'd lost ALL printing capability from my Win guest vm . . . no program (not even NotePad) could print. I got a temporary fix when I ran a DOS command to reset the Winsock catalog. But, that didn't work this morning. Finally, I figured it out. I recently installed SurfEasy on my MacBook Pro, iMac, iPad, and had installed in on my Win vm just in case I ever needed an internet connection (the vm is basically closed off from the web). As soon as I disconnected SurfEasy from the Win vm my printing capability returned. Now, on the guest vm, I will connect ONLY in the rare instance when I need to get on the internet from my Win XP Pro side. I like SurfEasy VPN, using it primarily when I'm traveling with my laptop and using various wifi connections. You can connect 5 devices (my android phone is next) on one account. But, this is a heads up for anyone using it with a vm; you gotta disconnect it IF you are printing over an wired connection. I don't know about wireless, but I suspect it might be the same. TobyT
Hi, afaik some VPNs by security reasons forbids all other networks except VPNd one while connected. So, it could be that it just VPN blocks access to network printer. May be you could try to setup printer via parallels provided solution (afaik it is called shared-printiner), instead of using network-printer
