I just put windows 8 on my MacBook Pro using parallels 8. It is very interesting and i am enjoying it, although I am still going through some growing pains.
One such pain is how i want my Photos App in windows 8 to recognize my Pictures folder on my Mac side. It shows up on the windows side, but nothing is in it as it is unsupported.
    How do i change this?

    Thanks.

    I don't have Windows 8 installed.

If you enable Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Options -> Sharing -> Shared Profile: Share Mac user folders with Windows, Configure -> Select Pictures, then the contents of your Mac Pictures folder will appear when you look at the Pictures folder in the Library.

If you right click Pictures in the Library, you can see that \\psf\Home\Pictures was added by Parallels Shared Profile. You could also add that folder or any other folder manually.

    Does Windows 8 behave differently?

    Thanks joevt.

My pictures folder was shared the way you instructed, so when I am in Windows Explorer I can see the contents fine.
But when I use the Pictures App in Windows 8, it won't recognize the folder. So in this way Windows 8 behaves differently. Or maybe it is the App, although the App comes from Windows.
Maybe i should find a third party App.
