Using Parallels 7 on a MacBookAir.....was running out of space, so with help of Parallels tech support, moved Windows.pvm file to an external drive.

Was just look in that drive, saw that file, which had a modified date of June (it's September now). Seemed odd, so I clicked to remember what was in it.

Got a pop-up box that has no Cancel or Close function. I have NO idea what to select -- it looks ominous. The message is:

"Duplicate MAC addresses detected. Do you want to recreate the MAC address for the virtual machine or use the current MAC address anyway? The MAC address of the network adapter of the virtual machine "Windows 1" to be registered is already in use."

It gives me two choices: Use Current. Create New.

Create New is highlighted, so I guess that's the preferred default. I have no idea what any of this means. I just want to close the box and get on with my work without creating a disastrous mess.

    Thank you for any help!

Either way is fine and works, it's just saying that because either the original VM was not deleted or it was not removed from the VM list, so Parallels sees two VMs that have the same Mac (since they are a copy of eachother), the only problem that dialog is trying to avert is of running both copies at the same time. So, pick new if you want.

Thank you, thank you! Picked 'new', got some scary screens but clicked through, so I'm back in order. Very grateful!
