When I purchased my iMac, it came with Windows 7 and Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac installed. I kept all of the updates current and when Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac became available, I purchased it and installed it. I also Upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 8. My problem is that although Windows 8 is installed and runs fine with Parallels, the Mac screen still shows it as Windows 7. I just installed the upgrade to Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac, but it still shows as Windows 7. Is there any way I can fix this? Thanks for any help you can offer.

    *sigh*
Just change it in the VM configuration.

See that picture? Where it says Windows 7, if you hover it you get a down arrow and you can change the OS type.
