So I have a question. I was attempting to run the FFXIV ARR benchmark. When i went to run it the program notified me that i dont have directx 9 and that it requires this to run it. I downloaded it onto my VM. It keeps giving me an error message saying that I do not have it downloaded onto my computer. I also wanted to know why parallels doesnt display the nvidia graphics processor as far as settings go. Maybe i should be looking under the computer control panel or something? I'm a little lost here and will be checking this thread regularly to see what answers people offer. im new to the parallels universe and im really looking forward to using it for my gaming and otehr application needs for PC programs. Thanks in advance for any help and advice!
In a virtualized environment, like PDM, the graphics card is virtualized, Windows doesn't have direct access to it, or direct control, remember that this physical card is shared between OSX and Windows. As such you get a Parallels Video Adapter or similar wording that proxies the physical graphic card. You should install Parallels Tools in case you haven't.
Ok so I installed the tools package for parallels. how do I access the controls to deal with graphics settings etc?
If you are looking for something like an nVidia control Panel, there isn't any. Only the "Appearance and Personalization" tools that come in Windows control panel.
