Upgrade to version 8. I use for sending files to my CNC Router through USB

Used version 5 until a week ago because new versions cannot see serial port (win error code:2)

This is used in a large business, I desperately need to get this fixed. Parallels Tech has been no help at all, so far.

Have you tried to reinstall Parallels Tools and reinstall the CNC specific drivers (I'm guessing it's a virtual serial encapsulated over USB)?

That is correct. I re-installed tools. Have not found the drivers at this point in time.

The Com Port is set to Com 1 to communicate with the CNC

Communications for my program is set at Com 5 now. Changed it to "1" made no difference in the error:2 code.

Like I said, the most likely way to solve the situation is to recreate the virtual com port, that virtual com port is created by the CNC drivers.

    Parallels version 8

I just happen to have a neighbor who is and has been for many years, a computer technician of the highest order.

He has done many unlikely bits of programming for us and our company.

    That said:

I had him come to the shop this evening for about three hours, to see if we could get our Mac on OS 10.6.8 with A Virtual Windows XP to operate

with version 8 of Parallels. There is no way in Hades the software is going to work properly in our configuration to drive the CNC.

After doing some sleuthing there are numerous other owners of version 8 with the same communications problem.

We finally re-installed version 5, since version 6 was a piece of junk and as I stated before, we didn't even bother with version 7.

I like to keep my computers up to date thereby the reasoning for buying "8".

Now, I know that who I may be communicating with has no jurisdiction with crediting my CC for the amount I paid, that is exactly what I want to happen. If that does not happen tomorrow morning I will certainly notify the card company to negate the charge.

BTW: Parallels is done as far as I am concerned. It has been one disaster after another.
