Hi, I'm not able to make the right option key work with the enter key to enable me to use ReSharper's automatic refactoring. If I use the left option key, it works fine. I've mapped the Alt+Ins combo to the Mac's Alt+Delete keys, and the right-Alt key works fine for that. The dud combo is the right-Alt and Enter. I've read something about AltGr etc with regards to non-English keyboards, but there's no option anywhere (as far as I can see) to remap this, or make it work. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm using Parallels 7 on a Nov2011 MBP with OSX 10.7.2 Thanks, Geoff.
Yes! I retrained myself to use the left Alt key. It's very frustrating, but I only use Macs now so I'm forcing myself to change and adapt to the different keyboard. That being said, I'm still stuck with Alt+Ins. It just doesn't work for me as left Alt.
Just go into Tools > Options > Environment > Keyboard and in the "Press shortcut keys" field, press whatever shortcut key you're having problems with. It should then show which functions is bound to that key combination in "Shortcuts for selected command". Just click the "Remove" button to have those keybinds removed.
Here is the full instructions on how to fix the problem in Parallels as described here. The trick is to map Option to Alt in Parallels. Parallels does this FOR you automatically, but ONLY for the left Option key, not the right one. If you add the mapping as described in my blog post here: http://slickrabbit.com/parallels-for-mac-right-alt-key-not-working/ you will be able to use either alt key. I was NOT going to force myself to learn how to use left alt-enter for Resharper!! ;-)
