Yeah, about the Macbook air (running mountain lion), turns out a DVD drive can be helpful. I can't get a version of Windows 8 on to my macbook air. Two questions:

Do I just have to beg a portable disk drive from someone or is their some way to download Windows 8 directly?

I already loaded Parallels 8 it is a VM without an OS. Will this be obvious in how to deal with it once I do get a copy of Windows?

    Thanks!

First, the only downloadable version of Windows 8 is the upgrade version. You will
need to have a previous version of Windows installed to use it. This holds true of the
commercially available versions in retailers such as Best Buy, Staples, etc.

Only an OEM disc, such as can be purchased from Newegg, can be used to install
Win8 without a previous Windows install.

As for a DVD drive, yes, you will need to beg, borrow, or steal one.
