I run Windows 8 in parallels on Mac OS 10.8. Often Parallels sits there at 40%+ CPU usage, even when Windows isn't really doing anything (and Task Manager shows 0% CPU use). This KILLS battery life when running parallels. It is vital you make Parallels a lot more battery friendly. What are your plans on this front? Please +1 this if you agree.
Seen that thanks. If I turn 3D acceleration off or lower memory, Windows becomes really slow, specially when scrolling text. The problem is at the core of Parallels - it is very wasteful of CPU cycles. Can you focus on battery life more - clearly this is more of a focus with Mac OS Mavericks - and you will be given tools to make this easier. As your competition becomes more battery efficient - if you don't I will certainly switch. Please confirm the following: 1) Why is Parallels so wasteful of CPU time / battery life. 2) How much more battery efficient will Parallels 9 and 10 be? Thanks.
+1. It also runs really buggy sometimes in coherence mode. But it just totally drains my battery doing anything, also my computer heats up like a dog. I don't tend to keep it running if I don't need it.
