Hi, I'm having issues with Office 2013 (Outlook 2013 specifically) with Parallels 8. I use an exchange server with Outlook. Outlook is often using 100% CPU especially when I navigate around or try to open emails. I've disabled hardware graphics acceleration but that hasn't helped much. I'm looking for others who may be having the same problem and other ideas to try. Thanks
I'm having similar issues. Running Parallels 8 w/ Windows 7, Mountain Lion, 2013 MBP with 2.6 i7 and 16GB RAM. There should be NO processing or memory issues with running this software. I did not have any problems until installing Office 2013. My outlook freezes very frequently, the entire suite seems glitchy, and it also causes both OSs to hang from time to time. Has anyone else experienced this or identified a solution?
Same issues here. I have a MBP, i7 8GB RAM. Parallels v (Build 8.0.18483 (Revision 860857; March 30, 2013)) and running a Win8 X64 Machine. The moment I fire up Outlook 2013, on the VM it shows 45-50% processor utilisation, and on the host, it shows 160% or so...My machine still operates, it just gets sluggish on the VM sometimes, and the fan cranks up. I am running the latest version of OSX, 10.8.4....
Having sluggishness as well, but CPU utilization doesn't spike. RAM hits 40-50%. Regardless, it's very sluggish and on a number of occasions locks up.
I found the solution at http://www.askvg.com/disable-hardware-graphics-acceleration-and-fix-blurred-font-and-cursor-hanging-problems-in-microsoft-office-2013/
I've tried this before and worked great - navigation is much better, etc... But I'm still seeing lock-ups, etc...
Hi, I have recently upgraded to Office 2013. Outlook 2013 is one of my main apps I use and the CPU keeps spiking, windows freeze and I have lock-ups and app restarts. It may also be happening in other Office Apps but I don't use them that much to have a clear picture of any issues. I have made sure both "Disable hardware graphics acceleration" (was disabled by default) and "Use subpixel positioning to smooth fonts on screen" are disabled (disabling smooth fonts has helped slightly) but I am still having issues mentioned above that are annoying. I have a Mac Book Pro about 2 years old with 4GB of RAM and SSD which has been great performance wise. I run the "coherence" view. I had no issues with Office 2010 previously and I am running Parallels Desktop for Mac v9 (the latest version). Build 9.0.24237 (Revision 1028877; Wednesday, July 2, 2014) Any help or ideas to resolve this would be most appreciated.
A slightly different problem seems to occur when right-clicking in Outlook for example on "calendar" or "people" and "opening a new window". (I am using an second monitor and have an extended desktop in coherence view). When the second window launches it goes into a mode of alternating from full screen to same size as the other Outlook window already open. It does this several times and i am unable to interrupt this process before the window stabilises at one size. The CPU is maxed out during this time but memory is not high, the cpu load drops after the new window stays the same size. Excel can also do similar actions when a second spreadsheet is opened. I am also getting Outlook hangs and eventual crashes where it will eventually ask to be restarted. Please help.
