    Hi,

At first I've installed windows 7 using bootcamp and later I installed parallel desktop. So should I still keep the bootcamp or uninstall it. Would it affect parrallel desktop? would it also uninstall my windows 7?
    Please help.
    Thank you

    Hi,

If you created your vm from "Use Windows from Boot Camp" do not delete your bootcamp installation. You are using Parallels to view the bootcamp installation.

Thanks for your Reply Kat. Yes I think I I did that. but is their any way to confirm about which mode i have selected. In other case if i uninstall my vm and then uninstall bootcamp and then re-install vm so would it be fine?

    Hi SobiaA,

If you access virtual machine configuration (http://kb.parallels.com/115563) and click on Hardware > Hard Disk 1 - it should indicate whether you use BootCamp or have a standalone Virtual Machine.

There's no need to delete your BootCamp partition if you have a Virtual Machine based on it. Parallels Desktop just helps to get access to your Windows with no rebooting.

Thank you so much Mr. Andrew for your reply. In your opinion which option is better? Using vm using bootcamp or using standalone vm? Because using through bootcamp I feel that my mac got slow as compared to before. Standalone vm I did not try yet.
    Thanks
