I am trying to run BT5R3 off Parallels 8 on a 2012 MBP with Broadcom 43xx NIC. Backtrack site says that it cannot be done but I see threads on other forums claiming it works. I have tried all of the options that I have seen out there and nothing works. I cannot even start networking. When I run /etc/init.d/networking start it gives me an error saying that networking is not a valid command.

Is there something I need to shut off in parallels to get it to work? Do I need to make an adjustment from OS X?

Does anybody have a solution to this?

    Thanks

AFAIK, there is no way for a Linux guest to see the physical wireless adapter as a wireless adapter. I believe this is true for any virtualization product currently with any guest. I battled this same problem and eventually bought an Alfa USB radio from the Hakshop: http://hakshop.myshopify.com/products/alfa-usb-wifi-awus036nha

It works great out of the box from a 2011 MBP to BT5 R3. I highly recommend it.

Anyone know if this work with 10.8.2? I'm interested in the pineapple mark IV...

    Shame it doesn't do 5ghz N wireless.
