After shutting down Parallels 8 virtual machine (no problems or errors) and quitting the Parallels app (no problems or errors), Parallels VM process continues to run, won't quit, must force quit. Why? What needs fixed?

Or do I have to pay for support????

Same problem here. Running OS X 10.6.8 on a Mid 2011 iMac.

Activity Monitor shows the "Parallels VM" process continuing to run, taking up over 90% of the processor time. It must be force quit to remove it. Restarting and running Parallels again, same problem.

    Please help!

    100% cpu solution

What worked for me was going to a command prompt in windows and entering:

    netsh winsock reset

i found that in another thread in the parallels forum. should be able to find it by searching the command.
