    Hi,

I've searched Google and the forums but I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue.

Spotlight doesn't seem to index the Contents of my mounted C drive (Windows) guest. I am doing some .NET development on my Windows XP guest and would love to be able to use spotlight to search in the source code (.aspx, .cs, .html, etc). Below are my specs:

    - Mac OS X 10.6.3
    - Parallels 5.0.9344
    - Macbook Pro 2.8Ghz Core 2 Duo / 4GB RAM
    - Not using Bootcamp
    - Not an upgraded Parallels (clean install from v5)
    - Parallels Tools running perfectly

I am mounting my Windows guest C drive by the following setting:

Virtual Machine > Configure > Shared Folders > "Access Windows folders from Mac" (checked) & "Mount virtual disks to Mac OS X desktop" (checked)

I have also added the mounted disk to the System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy > "Prevent Spotlight from searching these locations" and then removed the mounted disk. (This was an attempt to get Spotlight to re-index from scratch. This sometimes works with USB drives).

When I search the mounted drive (or any subfolders) it seems to work fine using "File Name".

Is searching the "Contents" supported? I am seeing some references to an option "Add virtual disks to Spotlight search" for Parallels 4. I hope this feature wasn't explicitly removed.

    Thanks!

I forgot to ask... If a couple folks could at least confirm this behavior with their own setups it can help me determine if the problem is with me or with how spotlight is indexing a Parallels mounted drive. Thanks!
