    Hello,

I'm a happy Parallels user since version 7 on a 2011 MacBook Pro with integrated graphics (HD3000) and an AMD Radeon dicrete graphics.
I use it for more than one year with Windows XP without any trouble.

Since I installed Windows 8, everything works OK except that Parallels requires (forces) the utilization of the AMD discrete graphics, which causes the laptop to warm and reduces battery life.

When I manually switch to "integrated" graphics using gfxCardStatus :
    - It refuses to do it while the VM is running
    - It can't find the proper video driver when modified before launching the VM.

Is it possible to run Windows 8 with Parallels 8 by using the integrated video adapter ?

    Thank you very much !

Ok thank you I will try this.

When I select "longer battery life", will the proper graphic driver install correctly (or is it totally transparent for the guest OS) ?
