    Hello,

I have the problem, that Windows XP shows a BSOD, seems to be at the end of the shutdown (prior shutdown sequence seems to work normal). The error message is:

STOP: c000021a: The system process Windows Logon Process has ended unexpectedly.
Here is the screenshot, which is from German Windows installation:

Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac Build 8.0.1834 on
    Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.2 (12C3012)
    MacBook Pro Mid 2012
    8 GB RAM
    Samsung 830 SSD drive

    Guest:
    Windows XP SP3
most recent Windows updates are installed
on external USB3 hard drive (no SSD)
Virtual machine migrated from most recent version of VMware player on former Win7x64 host

I am using right now the test version of Parallels Desktop 8 and thinking about buying or not.
Any ideas welcome. Thank you in advance.

Ok thanks it was indeed a problem with windows. I read that some people had some problems with internet explorer so I went into add/remove programs in the control panel to remove IE when i saw that i had VMware tools installed. I decided to remove that first and required a restart to take effect. It restarted perfectly fine without a BSOD so i'm guessing that was the problem. I'm guessing it wasn't removed when I removed VMware fusion (didn't like it, too slow). Thanks for the help and i hope this helps the original poster!

Oh yes ... really this has been the issue. As I migrated from VMWare Player, I still had the VMWare Tools installed. I uninstalled them and the BSOD does not occur any more. Thanks for your support!
