Just created a new Win 8 VM and tried to install my new Quicken 2013 from DVD. I can open the DVD and see the installer, but when I launch it I get an error about not finding the path.
fixed it! when I posted the question earlier today I didn't have the exact message, but was able to find it now. "... install launcher was unable to open \\psf\Quicken ...." the solution was actually posted last year - I needed to select the Real DVD, then default DVD. As soon as I did that the autorun kicked in and it's installing as I write this.
Real DVD vs. Virtual DVD I don't understand how I can select the Real DVD option. When I go into the Windows Device Manager and click on DVD/CD ROM Drives, my only choice is Virtual DVD-ROM. How do I access the Real DVD option? Thanks
