Just want to let you guys know:

Whenever I try to do something on my MBPr which involves the smallest amount of 3D, my Windows 8 VM crashes instantly after the graphics update.
This is not unique to me since I already saw a lot of people complaining about this.

When can we expect a fix/patch/update?

Can you reinstall Parallels Tools from Virtual Machine menu? If it does not help - please send the problem report from the Help menu and post the report ID here

Reinstalling Parallels Tools didn't fix it.

I am having crashes with my Windows 7 VM after this update as well. In particular if I try to open DB2 Control Center it immediately crashes.

Got support from Parallels and they escalated it. Not sure when they will fix it. Temporary workaround is to disable 3D acceleration in the VM configuration. That has prevented the crashes for me thus far. Of course, that's useless if you want to run 3D.

Parallels, please fix this! Disabling 3D acceleration support is not plausible long-term. This setting also affects 2D support in Windows, making the UI more sluggish and prone to tearing and artifacting.

Created Two support cases and have gotten no workaround until i found these posts

    hello,

This is a very huge issue. I have called support twice and supposedly my issue was escalated. I received zero workarounds until i found these similar posts. Anything that uses JVM or JRE just blows up the VM and crashes my VM. The battery life optimization didn't work out for me. The only way is to turn off 3d which works but not optimal at all.

I went ahead and tested with 18345 and it looks to be fixed. Hope it works for others.
