I consistently lose network & internet connectivity after my Macbook Pro sleeps. It seems to have started to happen after Mountain Lion was installed and it's continued after I upgraded to Parallels 8. I still have Mac connectivity but Win7 does not connect. I've tried disconnecting / connecting and moving to Bridged from shared etc. to no effect. Restarting Win7 restores the connection. Any ideas?
HI Gareth, I have had the same problem, though less so since I upgraded to the latest version 8 build. Having said that, I'm now having to put my VM in to Suspend far less than I used to in version 7 because when it awakes, 8 times out of 10, I'm stuck with an irrecoverable black screen and have to literally 'Reset' my VM, which is going to bite me sooner or later. However, I digress, with the networking issue I found that if I 'disabled' my network adapter (in Windows) and then immediately 'enabled' it, the networking would return to normal. I hope this helps, but personally I wish I hadn't upgraded to version 8 for all of the issues I'm having. Best regards, Tim.
Have similar issues I have had similar issues from Wake with Parallels 7 and Windows 7 64 bit on Mountain Lion. I find the network WiFi is slow to reconnect or it does connect but does not indicate that in the task bar Icon which indicates its connected to the network but not internet. I am just not going to upgrade to Parallels 8 and face the possibility of other issues. The ones I have with Parallels 7 are livable and do not affect my using Windows 7. I am actually shopping for a cheap PC now for my Windows.
Any Resolution for This Issue I just installed Parallels on my MBP Retina 15 with Mountain Lion. Setup a Win7 64 bit VM. Then, was downloading an ISO image for Office. Had to run out to lunch. Came back. MacBook had gone to sleep. Checked download in my VM. It had failed. It sounds like the same problem folks have reported here. On my other Windows machine, if I am downloading a large file (e.g. there is network activity) the system will not go to sleep. It may go dark (screen saver) or the monitor may shut down (power management), but the system will still be active. Is there some setting I need to use to get the same behavior here? Thanks.
Same thing here Just took to plunge to ML on 15" MBP 3.1 (last/oldest one to allow ML) and my Parallels 7 was X'd out and would not run in ML so I updated to P8. First, everything is sloooooowwww. I have 4MB RAM, maxed out there. Left things sit and when I came back had a hard time waking things up and both W7 and ML had lost internet even though ML said it was connected. Tried Crome-nothing. Tried a ping to msn.com and terminal just sat there, not even a return of timed out. Shut down everything, rebooted and got stuff back but this slow stuff is real bad. I'm going to see what's possible for the fix (clean installs, etc). ML was a download from App Store upgrade, so not a clean install. I've got a ghost of whole HD on external so everything is not lost.
