    Dear Experts,

I am in Mountain Lion (Mid 2011 iMac). Would like to check with you -

    >> if I install Parallels 7 within the Mac & install Windows 7 as the guest operating system and install a VPN client (inside the operating system - Windows 7 Ultimate), Could I use windows to connect to the VPN network and in parallel continue to use the iMac with the local network? If any has tried this - sharing the pain points will also be helpful.
    >> I have a plan to buy 15" Macbook Pro Retina display. Is Parallels 7 compatible with the 15" Macbook Pro Retina? Parallels 7 is only $10 in some web stores.

    Thanks

PD7 is compatible with the latest MBP, however Retina support is not so good s in PD8.
Yes, you can use VPN in VM - it is usual configuration, try to switch VM into the Bridged network mode from VM Configuration --> Hardware -->Network

No pain points. I've used both the Cisco IPSec VPN client and Windows native PPTP. They work just fine. Tested in XP Pro and W7 Ult under PD7/Snow Leopard.
