    Dear all,

I am currently running Parallels 7.0.15098 on a Macbook Pro (Mac OSC 10.7.5).

As I have a few other issues (cannot install Parallels Tools, cannot share files) I wanted to update Parallels to the latest version. However, the installation process is coming back with an error message "My Boot Camp uses an NTFS-formatted Boot Camp Partition and cannot be suspended". There is also something about stopping any NYFS software, but I have no idea what this is all about.

I have searched the forum and the net and, whilst others have had the same problem, I have not found a solution (or at least not once I could understand.

Any help would be welcome as I have wasted way too much time on this already. I would get rid of Parallels but I need it for a software I run.

    Regards from sunny Cambodia,

    Hanno

    Hi HannoS,

    Try the following:

    1. Shut down your virtual machine (in Windows go to Start -> Shut down).
    2. Quit Parallels Desktop (right-click on the icon in the Dock).
    3. Download the latest Parallels Desktop 7 build:
    http://download.parallels.com//desktop/v7/update4.hotfix2/ParallelsDesktop-7.0.15107.796624.dmg
    4. Double click on downloaded .dmg file and install the application.
    5. Open Finder, in the Spotlight field type ".pvm" (without quotations), double click on the founded .pvm file (it will start your virtual macine).
    6. When Windows boots, go to Virtual Machine menu -> choose install Parallels Tools.

    Hope this helps.

Installation of Parallels successful, installation of Tools failed

    Dear MLittleR,

Thank you very much for your help. Everything went well until step 5. However, I cannot install the Parallel tools. I get to about 40% and then it stops. The program tells me to restart Windows, but it still won't work.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks a lot,

    Hanno
