    Hi Everybody,

I just installed Paralles on my Mac, to run some CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) and CAD software on a Windows guest. For this purpose I am going to deal with quite big files (50-750M) and especially with plenty of them! Because I do not want to see my virtual hard-drive to increase enormously in size I was wondering which was the best strategy to adopt.
At the moment I am keeping on the guest hard-drive only the project I am working on and using the host hard-drive to archive finished projects. This works fine but it can be quite tedious if some archived files need to be transferred back to the guest. Another option is to leave all the files on the host machine and access them only through shared folders. In the latter case, which would be ideal, I wonder if CAD and CFD software performances can be an issue due to a possible higher latency in accessing the data.

Does anybody have any insight into this? Any suggestion is more than welcome

    Regards,

    Marco

I would suggest to access files through the shared folders. This scenario has been tested and there should be no performance issues at all
