Hi. I just installed Windows Server 2012 on Parallels Desktop 8. Parallels thought it was Windows 8. I was not sure if I should install it as Windows Server 2008 or Windows 8. I went the Windows 8 route. Seems to be working. I will play with it the following weeks and keep you posted. It's running on an old MacMini Server with the latest version of OS X Server.
WS12 on PD7 - Parallels Tools issues? Hi there, installed Windows Server 2012 on Parallels Desktop 7, for testing... Works fine so far (also recognized as Windows 8, which is fine with me...) - I was asking myself, whether installing Parallels tools may cause any issues? Think I'll simply try, it's a clean install anyway, will post the result
So, principally seems to work ok, Shared Clipboard is not working though - is this some WS12 security setting, and if yes, can it be overridden (apart from the fact, that for a "functional" server one may find the risk of enabling this function too high)?
Parallels Tools are obligatory to be installed - otherwise we cannot guarantee smooth windows operating. which VM has problem wit shared clipboard?
Hi, I'm running (a full trial version of) Windows Server 2012, with Parallels Desktop 7 on a Macbook Pro (Mountain Lion, 8GB ram, 2,3 core i7). Configured Host with 4GB Ram + 256 Vram, apart from that standard config I think... PD7 recognized the ISO / system as Windows 8 (instaed of WS12), but I don't think that could cause the issue, right? BR, MichielB
Windows Server 2012 on Parallels Server 4 I'm having zero luck installing Windows Server 2012 in Parallels Management Console 4.0.10311 I even tried installing it on my laptop's Parallels 8 and then moving it over to the MacMini server. Fails. Then I even tried migrating, but it says it's a Parallels virtual machine already & doesn't need to be migrated. SO I migrated it from Parallels 8 to Fusion 5, then attempted to migrate back to Management Console 4, but was told "this 64bit image can only be migrated as a data disk." It shouldn't be this hard. . . seriously.
