I updated from Lion to Mountain Lion in late July, and when Parallels 8 came out, I updated that as well. I use Parallels primarilly so I can run Quicken (2012). Until a week or so back, when I ran Parallels, I had to choose which Windows application I wanted to start, and Quicken would run properly. Earlier this last week when I would start up Parallels, Quicken Launcher would automatically try to start and give me a message that "A One Step Update is in progress. Please wait until it finishes to exit Quicken." I have left it running in that condition overnight without it ever finishing. If I try to exit the update and Quicken, it won't let me. I can shut down Parallels, and turn off my MacBook Pro, but the next time I try to start Parallels, I get the same results -- again and again. I can still pull up the Windows Start menu and run any other Windows program I have installed, but not Quicken. Is my problem with Quicken? Or with Parallels? Gary
Something's wrong with Quicken. You need to force quit the precess. Open Task Manager in Windows and end the Quicken process
