Anyone know/have experience: Can you run XP and W7 simultaneously -- i.e., without quitting one and starting the other -- using Parallels 6 or above on a Mac? (Sadly, I use an ancient Windows archiving software, for which I've been unable to find -- for tech reasons not necessary to list here -- an acceptable replacement, and which will NOT run on W7.)

    Thanks in advance.

You can run as many different Virtual Machines simultaneously as your physical RAM allows it (for example: if you assign 1 GB to XP and 2 GB to Win7, you would need at least 6 GB RAM on your machine to accommodate Win7, XP and the OSX host). I recommend having 8 GB physical RAM on the machine for this to work smoothly.

I am now working in an OS X virtual machine (well running on VMware because I compared both products and found it better to run OS X), but Windows XP is permanently open in Parallels 8 for my dictionary and other daily tasks.
