I am planning to get Parallels 8. I have a desktop and a laptop. Will I have any problem installing it on both?
Is there anything I need to know in order to install it on two computers?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if the licensing is per user, or per machine.

Check the Parallels license if it allows you to run it on two machines. If it does it will likely stipulate you can run it only on one at a time.

There shouldn't be any technical reason you can't, but check the legality of it.

I'm still wondering about the technical side of installation on two computers. It seems that for activation Parallels requires being online (in addition to having the key code). So I am wondering if there is a check as to whether that copy of Parallels has already been installed on another computer.

This also affects getting a new computer (as a replacement for an existing computer where Parallels was installed) and installing the previously purchased copy of Parallels on the new computer.

I don't plan on using it on more than one computer at a time, but would like to have it available on both my desktop and laptop.

    Thanks for any information.

    And a followup question:

IF it can only be used on one computer, is it possible (and also easy!) to install it on two computers, but only have it activated on one at a time? And then, if I go on a trip for example, deactivate it on my desktop and activate it on my laptop.

    Thanks!
