Parallels Tool for Windows 8

    Hello All, as a Microsoft Developer, I download the final release of Windows 8. Unfortunately though, I am unable to install Parallels Tools in Windows 8. The installer stalls at the 59% level and the screen goes black and becomes unresponsive. I am forced to shut down the VM to start Windows 8 again. Any idea when Parallels will issue a new set of Tools that will work with the final release of Windows 8? It is indeed frustrating that I have access to the very latest version of Windows 8 but cannot use it because Parallels is not up-to date with developments. Any comments from the moderator from Parallels on the release date for the new tools would be welcome. Thank you.

    I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried a multitude of workarounds to no avail. Emailing support has been laughable at best. They are basically telling me windows 8 isn't supported until it hits retail. So glad I dropped $50 on this upgrade. Parallels 7 worked better. Lol

    I'm going to try calling support instead of emailing. See if I can get a little more respect and help.

    Having tried everything else, I decided to download Win 8 Pro x86 from Technet and give it a try instead of x64. What do you know... works like a champ, tools installed without a hitch.

    My next test will be to create a new x64 vm from scratch to see if the issue is indeed an x64 issue or if its an issue regarding upgrading from Parallels 7 to 8 with existing VM.

    Alright, here we go. New x64 VM created without a hitch..... tools installed with no issue. So it appears the issue is related to upgrading from Parallels 7 to 8 with pre-existing VMs.
