    Hi guys,

I have an iMac mid-2011 which is happily dual-booting Mountain Lion and Windows 8 RTM, both under native EFI (not BIOS emulation).

However, I cannot work out if Parallels can run a Windows 8 EFI guest OS, or whether Parallels can only contain BIOS based Guest OSes.

If it can run EFI based guests, how on earth to I configure it so it can?

    Kind regards,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,
no, we're not supporting EFI bios in PD7.

Thanks Hanna, that's what I needed to know :)

The way you answered my question though, it made it sound like PD8 may have EFI support?

    Kind regards,
    Mark.

Hmm, let me just say we're working hard on EFI bios support :]

I've seen you have, in parallels 8 look in the configure preferences of your VM and look at Boot Order. :)

Too bad you can only use it on new installations, as it requires you to wipe the disk and convert to gpt.
