Windows 7 Screen goes nutty after sleep

I have moved a VM to a new machine (2012 MBP, non-retina). When I wake the computer from sleep, various elements of the VM screen flash between black and normal. It usually resolves if I change something in the VM like moving a window, resizing the VM window, opening an application in the VM. It does it in full screen also.

I'm going to try removing and reinstalling Parallels tools, but are there any other suggestions?

    Thanks

The tools uninstall / reinstall did not work.

You mean it's constantly flashing after wake from sleep until you perform one of those actions?

Are you using the latest Parallels and Tools?

It seems to either flash or elements of the screen will remain black no matter how long I wait. It seems like certain individual elements are unable to redraw themselves properly - a window, an icon. Sometimes the flashing corresponds with mouse movements.

I have uninstalled and used the "install tools" option from the menu. It should be the latest, given that I only installed Parallels from a download last week.

    Thanks

I have exactly the same problem running parallels demo downloaded last week on MacOs 10.7.4.
I am evaluating this product, and I am a bit nervous when I see such an issue.

I wonder: Is there a non-demo version to download? I downloaded the trial, installed, and gave it my full-version serial number. I wouldn't think there would be a second version out there, and why would it have the problems?

HelgeR: Are you using a new Macbook Pro also?

For what it's worth, I've never had a problem like this with either Parallels or VMWare. I've been using one or the other since they came out. Don't base your overall experience on this. It'll get figured out.

I'm going to try disabling 3D also...

Disabling 3D from the VM configuration seems to fix the problem. Of course, this isn't a solution.

I am using a 1 week old 13" MacBook Pro.
Where can I try to disable 3d from the configuration? I cannot find that anywhere.

    Regards

Make sure the VM is shut down, but Parallels is still running.

Choose Virtual Machine (menu) -> Configure -> Hardware (tab) -> Video -> Enable 3D acceleration

Adding "video.reset_on_wakeup=1" without quotes to Virtual Machine > Configure > Hardware > Boot Order > Boot flags should help.

What does that "reset" do? I'm just curious.

It forces 3D reinitialization in Windows. This restores resources lost in OS X driver during sleep.

Well, it seems to have worked! Now I can keep Aero, which makes Windows seem like it's in the 21st century ;-).

    Thanks.

Just tried to remove the command under 10.8.1, and it seems that the problem is gone. Thanks.

I have a Retina display MBP, Windows 7 VM and Parallels 8. I get a black screen when trying to wake up from sleep with VM running. Should I try this flag?
