Hi, I've just installed Parallels desktop 7 with Widows 7 onto my Mac and my question is do I need a separate Anti Virus program for windows 7 or does the one I have already installed on my Mac cover the windows 7 installation. Cheers Kev.
These are two separate environments, having an AV on one doesn't cover the other. If you receive an email on Windows with a Virus the Mac AV won't detect it even if it passes thru the same internet connection. So, be sure you install an AV on Windows, I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials, on the OSX I would say it's optional but ideally you should have one, I suggest Sophos for Mac (all these are free for home use).
