Hi Folks - saw an issue on this earlier, but thought I'd start a new, more specific threat.

    Go here.

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4137486?start=0&tstart=0

read through the whole thread to the end.

I can confirm with a macbook pro 2012 1/2 w/2.7 ghz and ssd that shutdown is nearly a minute UNLESS you disable this process in activity monitor.

I think they are working on the issue, although it would be nice to hear from someone here - even if it's to redirect us to another post.

    Addition

This is Parallels v. 7.0.15106.786747 with Mountain Lion.

In the first sentence above, i meant "thread" not threat.

Parallels Win7 works fine - my mac will just not shut down in a timely way. Awesome software, otherwise. Probbaly should have waited on OSX 10.8.1 or later.

    Solution

Just uninstalled and re-installed Parallels 7.0.15106.786747. Seemed like a longshot, but it worked. No delay in shutdown now, after trying everything else people suggested except just reinstalling.

Just direct the installer to the .vpm file for Windows and it should be ok.

Reinstalling Parallels does not fix problem

Tried reinstalling, but shutdown is still very, very long.
Uninstalling Parallels fixes problem... but can't stay without it...
