Gentleman, I've just submitted the following trouble report with ID: 16596682. I'd appreciate your help in resolving this issue, as I am with out a working Win XP Guest OS VM. I've just finished a download and install of PD7 which completely hangs on loading my VM. I'd really appreciate some help on this issue Please! Regards, Jim
Was this virtual machine created with PD6? or other version of PD? or any other application? DO you have any anti virus installed in Windows? At what stage does it hang?
Yes, I was upgrading from PD6 latest build to PD7. During the process I started up my .pvm created in PD6, actually back in probably PD5, and after a required restart after installing Karpersky Tools, my VM will not even complete the new startup, it just hangs. Yes, I do have Kaparsky Virus Checker installed in my Windows VM. At this point I have reverted back to a working again PD6 +VM, until I've been given some sort of positive resolution by your staff.
i suggest you to uninstall Kaspersky, remove Parallels Tools and make an upgrade. As soon an the virtual machine is upgraded and new tools are installed - you can install kaspersky back
Following that path over 4 times, has left me with a non working frozen VM each time. I've gone backwards to PD6, uninstalled PTools, used the kavremover.exe tool and each time I try(now 4 times) to install KIS after reinstalling PTools, my VM hangs on the restart. I've now sucessfully upgraded to a working VM running PD7 WITHOUT KIS, and also upgraded to Mac OSX Mountain Lion. My VM with out KIS installed seems to be stable after using it for two days. I've written for support from Kaspersky, but have not heard back from them with a viable resolution. If I do not hear back from them with a few days, I will be contacting Digital River for a partial refund as I have still 271 days remaining in my subscription to KIS.
you can even contact parallels support for KIS issues - the respond usually arrives within 24 hours www.parallels.com/support/request
