    Hi,

Running Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac. Build 7.0.15098

Have a VM that I want to convert from Expanding Disk back to Plain Disk for performance reasons. Cannot find the image tools that I remember being installed in the Parallels folder in Applications. All I see there is a License.Txt file.

How do I re-Install/obtain the image tools (without screwing up my existing installation) I need to do this? When I go into Configure the VM (without the VM running, of course), the checkbox to convert the VM back to Plain is greyed out.

    Thanks!

    Scott

Image tool has been removed after the version 5. I suggest you to run check disk in the virtual machine (chkdsk /f) and try the conversion. THis should help

    How does chkdsk /f help?

    Hi Yana,

Thanks for your reply. Just curious. How does running chkdsk /f help?

    Thanks.

The conversion option may be greyed out cause your disk might have some errors or corruption. check for errors with check disk which actually will fix them with /f option
