I named my windows XP on my iMac Win-XP and that name gets longer and longer. For some reason (1)'s are added to this name, almost one in two months. So now it is named: Win-XP (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) This is rather annoying. I tried to find this somewhere on my Mac, but I could only find a folder called: Windows XP (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) Applications. I have no idea what this (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) (1) causes, not have I an idea how to correct the name. Any one? Some details: I run Parallels 7, Windows XP Professional, iMac 2,93 GHz Intel Core i7, 8Gb 1333 MHz DDR3, OS 10.6.8. I seldom allow XP to be on the internet to prevent alware here. Hey that was one of the reasons to buy a Mac! The Mac is allowed to go on the net, while Windows has to stay behind doors.
Where exactly are you seeing this? In the virtual machines list? Title bar somewhere? In any case, open the Virtual Machines list from the Window menu. Right-click the virtual machine with the bad name. Select Configure and go to the General tab. You can edit the VM name there. Steve
