I recently needed to reinstall Windows 7 in my VM. I run my VM in Coherence. Since the reinstall, every hour, even if I am not in PD, something runs for a split second that steals focus from what I'm doing on the Mac side. It's so fast, I can't see what the icon is in the dock. This isn't a huge issue...until it happens while I'm trying to give a presentation in Mac Powerpoint. Any ideas on what could be doing this? I thought it might be AVG, but I don't have any scans or anything run hourly. What other apps or processes could be running hourly that could steal focus from the Mac side? Any way to prevent PD from stealing focus? Thanks, Steve
Still happening. It doesn't happen when PD is in fullscreen mode, however. Weird. Does anybody have any idea what it could be or what I could do to try to detect what the culprit is?
I have been experiencing a similar, SERIOUSLY frustrating focusing issue since upgrading to Parallels 7. If an application in my Windows guest OS opens up a new window whilst I am on a different spaces screen using a Mac application, Parallels somehow tells my computer to go back to the Parallels space and focus the Parallels environment. It is so annoying, I often leave Parallels doing a task in the background while I do other work on my Mac. I have looked through all the preferences and can't find anything obvious to toggle this off. Please Parallels, what do I need to do to stop Windows stealing the focus back?
Thanks for the reply and suggestion, Specimen. I *am* running in Windowed mode. Yes, I suppose I would expect this of Coherence, but not Window mode...
I think the issue here is that no program should ever steal focus from what you're working on. Getting your attention is what dock bouncing is for, not a sudden switch to another application. This is frustrating. Steve
