Hello everyone, I'm Alessio from Italy, I'm new here and this is my first post.. sorry for my bad english..

I own a Macbook unibody aluminum in 2008, the same as the Pro but without the written "Pro", 2.4G processor and 4G of RAM, 500GB HDD, UPDATED in OS and softwares.
I also have an IBM laptop with Windows 7, but I would like to dispose of.

I have already installed Parallels Desktop 7 on my Mac

    My question is this:
if I remove the superdrive and I install the Hard Disk of the IBM into an optibay, do you think Parallels recognize it as operating system able to start instead of the new Windows that I have installed with Parallels?
I could use my old Windows with all programs installed and the various settings as if it were always on IBM?

    Thanks.

It's not impossible but it's difficult and likely not worth it, when there are easier solutions.
To summarize there are two issues with the different hardware, Windows will not boot or will BSOD because of it, and the license is likely OEM, so it will be no longer active when you move to another hardware.

The best, and easiest option is to use Parallels Transporter that will 'transport' your Windows installation with programs, files and settings to a a new VM on the Mac, if disk space isn't an issue.
