Hi, I couldn't find an answer to this question anywhere and I cant find the feature in the settings either.

Its really annoying if I accidentally open a file that is associated to windows, like a .exe, under Mac OS X. This always causes an automatic start of Parallels which consumes a lot of resources.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi,

VM Settings -> Options -> Applications -> Share Windows Application with Mac (uncheck the option).

    Regards,
    Didier

    Hi DidierP,

thanks a lot for your reply!
I should have mentioned my version number, its 6.0.11994

At first I was confused as where to start (the VM Settinigs).

Here is, what I can do in order to get there:

Start the Virtual Machine (Windows 7), then right click on the Parallels Icon in the Mac icon bar. Here I select 'Configure'. A pop up window opens and there I can go with

Options -> Applications -> Share Windows Application with Mac (uncheck the option)

    like you said.

Works like a charme and no more annoying autostart.

    Thanks!

    best
    Frieder
