Just installed Parallels on my Mac, and installed Windows in it. Now I'm trying to do the data transfer from my old Vista 32 bit laptop to my Mac. I've updated the Easy Transfer software on my old PC to transfer to Windows 7. Problem is the cable never gets recognized on either end. So much for "easy" transfer! I don't want to transfer over the network, and don't have an external disk I can use now. Other ideas? When the cable was first plugged into my Mac, a window came up and asked if I wanted to plug into the Mac or VM; I chose VM: right?? Between this and computer problems at work, I'm not a happy camper this week! THanks, Shawn
First - you need to plug to your Mac. During the transfer Parallels creates a separate virtual machine. Second - are you talking about Parallels cable? it should have Parallels sign on it - in this case it should work. But in order to make it work in Windows you have to install Parallels Software on your PC: http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v7/update3/ParallelsTransporterAgent-15094.749908.exe (it is for PD7)
I would try using "Easy Computer Sync", and see if it is able to get a connection using the Easy Transfer Cable you have. http://www.easycomputersync.com
