I have no idea what is going on. It says that the IP address is the same as another computer's IP address so the internet cannot be accessed. I assume it is reading the IP address of the MacBookPro and reading it as two different computers since they are two different OS. This is NOT an issue on my iMac running the exact same configuration, so I don't know what the deal is. How do I fix this problem? Thank you! Dawn
Here shows how you enable the internet connection in your Windows 7. Please have a look... http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v4/docs/en/Parallels_Desktop_Users_Guide/22249.htm __________ Sakibs
Thank you. I did what it said to do on that website but..... I now think I have really messed things up. When I try to open Windows 7 now it says, "There is no operating system installed in this virtual machine. Please insert an operating system installation CD into the optical drive of your Mac and restart the virtual machine." I have no idea what to do at this point. When I go to Finder I can still find Windows 7 but when I try to open it, this is what I get. Should this be this hard?
Dawn, Have you checked the size of the windows 7.pvm file? In order to check whether the .pvm file is intact you can try to mount the .pvm file. In order to do so ctrl + Click the .pvm file ==> Open with ==> Parallels mounter. If you are able to mount the .pvm file you should be able to open it or it could be repaired. Regarding the internet connectivity problem, i would just suggest you to switch between Bridged and Shared networking modes and check with the connection. If you are still unable to connect try the steps mentioned in the following link: http://kb.parallels.com/en/8978 .
I am going to have a friend look at this. Now it says Parallels won't open because there is no OS. I have put the Windows CD back in but it won't download. I have done everything I can figure out how to do. Thank you. Dawn
I would suggest you to contact Technical Support . They should be able to assist you with the issue easily: http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop-virtualization/desktop/
