Anyone else having the same issue than me? It seems that i can set the WinXP watch as many times as I want, but it always changes it back to a wrong value after a few hours or so... :/
Did you control your time and timezone on the Mac host? If you set up PD to synchronize time between host and VM, this is done every minute or so.
My 2008 Server is also changing system time. I am running Windows 2008 R2 server for software testing sand I have turned off the sync time and the clock is moving ahead 1 hour every 3-5 minutes. pretty soon the system time is set to days ahead depending on how long the system is running. I use the windows change time to change it back using the internet sync and it will eventually move forward.
Windows time is a bit of a charlie foxtrot, as it is set based on the local timezone instead of the global standard of Zulu time. This is known to cause some interesting timekeeping bugs in various applications. In your case, it sounds like Windows is checking some online time server every 3-5 minutes, and is screwing up the check for Daylight Saving Time, causing the one-hour discrepancy. I would recommend you sync with the Mac host if at all possible. Cheers,
Windows Time keeps changing It doesn't just move one hour. it keeps adding an hour to the time. so after about 10 minutes it is about 10 hours ahead. This seems to happen on the Mac Version of Parallels Desktop with "No Time Sync" option set and parallels tool installed in the guest os and the guest OS is not the same as the Mac.
Hi! Same problem here ..... this is annoying ... I do not want to sync with my MAC because I need to use a different time on my guest Windows than on Mac. But now it is not possible anymore. Every minute the time is hour later ... changing every 24 minutes a full day .... and so on... Unbelievable .... PARALLLLELS team ...... any update yet ? Best Gregor
System Time Changing here is the response I got that works for my situation: (Guest os different timezone than Mac-Host OS) You can disable TimeSync completely by following these steps: 1. Locate the .pvm bundle of the virtual machine, by default it should be located in your Documents/Parallels folder, 2. Shutdown all virtual machines and quit Parallels Desktop, 3. Control-click the .pvm bundle, click 'Show package contents', 4. Locate the file config.pvs, 5. Control-click it, from 'Open With', select TextEdit, or text editor of your choice, 6. Locate the <TimeSync string, 7. Change "1" to "0" in <Enabled>1</Enabled> 8. Save the config.pvs file, and close it, 9. Start the virtual machine and check the issue. It will disable timesync completely. To enable it, you may change this value back to 1.
