I just renewed my subscription to Parallels Internet Security 2009. When it completed the subscription and I entered my activation code it said the database was corrupted. It then said my computer was at risk and hit Fix it now. It fixed somethings but now seems to be stuck on "Databases are obsolete". When I hit "Start Update" it appears to update, the status gets to 100%, but then it immediately says the "Databases are obsolete". I haven't updated this in several months, but have hit update about 20 times. Any thoughts on this? Obviously, if I am a Parallels user, I am NOT a PC guy. So there may be something simple I can do, but I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated.
Found this article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/6225 Downloaded the installer. I uninstalled the current version. Restarted Windows. Then reinstalled Parallels Internet Security 2009 from scratch. Restarted Windows. Ran Fix it Now. Updated Databases. It told me to restart Windows, but then immediately said Databases are obsolete. I restarted, hoping the initial update would stick. It didn't. I am stuck back in the Database Obsolete, Update, Database Obsolete loop.
Went to "Virtual Machine" > "Install Kapersky Internet Security" Said I needed to remove any other versions first. Ran the uninstall and uninstalled 2009. Restarted Windows. Went to "Virtual Machine" > "Install Kapersky Internet Security" Installed "Kaspersky Internt Security 2012" Looking like Parallels Internet Security 2009 doesn't play well with Windows 7. Clicked on Kaspersky Internt Security 2012. Waited in the PC environment that I hate which gives you no indication whatsoever that your click actually took. Installed and working correctly. I, however, am out $39.99 for the 2009 update.
