I am running the latest version of Parallels on the latest version of Mac OS on a MacBook Air. I have had only one Windows 7 VM until today. This VM has been running perfectly until...

Today I created a 2nd VM running Windows 7. Now my first VM is virtually unusable. When I click on the start menu it takes several seconds to come up. Once I get an app running, each key stroke takes several seconds to register.

The new VM works fine. Any ideas?

you were probably trying to use both of them simultaneously.
if you don't have enough RAM on Mac this may happen

Nope. Just running the new one.

You sure about that? Your initial post stated:

This does make it sound like you might have been trying to use your old VM while your new one was also running, which would produce exactly the kind of horrible lag you describe if you don't have enough RAM installed in your Mac.

    Cheers,

Yes. I mis-typed. I was trying each; one at a time. It's been several weeks and now both are running fine. I have even created a third and have been running two at a time without too much of a slow down.

Brilliant, glad to hear it! A touch envious, too. :) How much RAM do you have installed? (I've got an older 32-bit system, leaving me stuck with the hard limit of only 3.5 GB available... :( )
