I am using a MacBook Pro from 2009 with 8Gb Ram running Snow Leopard. My guest OS is Windows 7 64 bit. I recently "upgraded" from PD5. Prior to the upgrade everything both OSx and Windows was running perfectly. I was tempted by the $10 off special that the splash screen advertised. Prior to the upgrade Aero was running fine with no performance trade off. After the upgrade to PD 7, I am experiencing several issues: 1. Aero will not activate 2. Now when I boot to the same VM in Bootcamp, Aero also does not work 3. The SmartMouse sync function does not work in Auto mode the pointer clicks to the left of where it actually is on the screen. in On mode it flickers and disappears the mouse is only usable in the off mode I use a Logitech device, but it is the same with the track pad. The other buttons on the mouse are now wonky also 4. I don't believe Parallels Tools is installed correctly. The "Press Ctrl + Alt to release the mouse and keyboard" message is at the bottom of the window even after reinstalling. 5. The VM takes a long time to start. 6. This may be an aero related issue but the ribbon on MS Office looks like it is from Windows 3.1 I have searched through these forums and haven't found the right solution yet. I have made some registry changes as advised in other forum response, but my problems persist. Please help me find a fix or help me revert back to PD5 and the way my VM behaved prior to the change.
practically all your problems happen due to Parallels Tools failed installation. Follow instruction in this kb to fix it http://kb.parallels.com/en/8969
It turns out Parallels Tools was installed so I followed the instructions in your link to remove and reinstall. My VM will not boot beyond a black screen now. I need to correct this quickly.
