Hi there, I was trying to boot a hard drive clone (OSX Lion), made with Carbon Copy Clone into a virtual machine. I tried to restore the clone directly from a guest machine with 2 virtual hard drives (1 for the OS and 1 for the restore) but everything gets stuck after a few minutes: my guest machine doesn't shutdown anymore and my host doesn't shut down either (i have to force shutdown) So i have very big stability issues. By the way my host is a MBA mid2011.

Do you know a way to import a hard drive clone into a hdd file? I even tried with Parallels Mounter directly from the host machine, but then CCC tells me that there are problems with the drive... Any suggestion is welcome :D

Its important to note that an HDD clone is an exact replica of entire disk not a file. You can image the disk to get the data into a single file.

Use some disk imaging software for Mac.

The normal way to 'clone' a system with CCC is to use the restore function in disk utility, this can easily be accomplished by booting from a OS X Lion installer image and running Disk utility from there. If the system as problems after restoring it can be the result of a bad copy to start with.
