My setup: Mac Pro Dual Quad 2.26, 16gb. Parallels Desktop 7. iPhone 4s with latest Parallels Mobile.

I have recently had problems where the left mouse button has stopped working in Macos, and although the mouse can move, and the mouseovers cause things to highlight, The left button cannot be clicked. The only cure I have found is to ssh in and reboot the machine.

This has happened a few times over the last few weeks, and it occurred to me today, that it does appear to happen after I have used parallels mobile to access the mac host.

I would be the first to admit I have not done scientific testing to prove that it is after Parallels mobile use, and I do intend to do such testing - but I thought I would ask if anyone else has noted the same?

If there is an issue, the sooner it is flagged, and fixed the better...

It will take me a while to do proper testing because I will need to use parallels mobile some days and not others and record failures. I will report back - but if lots of people see the same issue, there may be something in it...

You can check the essential settings in Virtual Machine configuration: Options tab/ Advanced/ in SmartMouse drop down list select "Auto"

    Thank you for your reply.

I looked in this setting - but I don't think it can help me?

My issue is that after using a vm from work through my phone, when I get home, my left mouse button does not work on my mac pro - the mouse is free, can move over the whole desktop - items in my browser will highlight with mouse over but I cannot click anything at all.

As I said - the only way I have found to fix it is rebooting the machine.

Restarting the windowserver or powering the (bluetooth) mouse off do not help.

    I hope this is clearer?

(I will try the smart mouse setting for something else though - in eve online (which I would not try to actually play through parallels mobile) - sometimes I just want to use a skill book remotely - i can right click (long tap) and the context menu comes up - I can see the option to inject skill but when I click it - nothing happens - i will try that with smart mouse off)

How about trying a different mouse?

yes - just wanted to make sure you have right smartmouse settings - it is important for both Parallels Mobile and native work. an idea with the different mouse is good. Please make a Problem Report next time the problem occurs (Help --> Report a problem) and post the report id here

I have swapped the mouse with the one on my mac mini - just in case - although since it works fine and has done for months I have just done it to rule the mouse out.

The problem seems to occur whether I use a VM or use parallels mobile to access the host.

I used it yesterday evening from my iPad.

When I came to use the mac pro, I found that the focussed window on screen was "attached" to the mouse - when I moved the mouse the window moved, left click did not work, and I could not drop the window.

If it happens again, I will try to use parallels mobile to generate a problem report - because it will not be possible using the desktop.

    Thanks
