Ubuntu 11.04 installed and ran fine. Upgrading to 11.10 went without a hitch. Then after installing Parallels Tools, Ubuntu lost the ability to automatically detect the display resolution of the virtual machine.
Parallels Tools on Fedora 15 I am curious about your issue because I have an issue getting Parallels Tools upgraded. I may have stumbled on a partial answer to the cause. Take a look at the date/time stamps on the files under /Library/Parallels/Tools. Mine are inconsistent. Most of mine are dated Dec 16, 2011, and two are Jan 11, 2012. Support has requested I run the Uninstaller, but that does not exist on my Parallels Tools disk for Linux. I notice it is on the Mac ISO. It would be nice if they explained what these files do (technical details).
